Please help us to catch up! Wednesday 07 May 2008 by Brian Smart - Webmaster Thanks once again to everyone who has been busy submitting results.
As you can see from the tables, we now have a wealth of information available to us, never before seen in these leagues.
Keith has finally received the first set of official results from Bernard and he has verified and updated the website's database from that information.
Please spread the word about this site! Some teams are not yet participating in the campaign and it may be because word has not yet reached them so when you play your games, Please make sure your opponents know about the site and how to submit their results and that way, those that are lagging behind will soon catch up.
Every single bowler in Tameside should know about this site and how they, as individuals, and their team are getting on, please share it with them!
Thank you |

THANK YOU! Friday 25 April 2008 by Brian Smart - Webmaster Many thanks to those of you who have started to submits results as requested in my previous article.
Unfortunately, now that results are coming in, I've been knocked off the top spot in the premiership. I was only on top because no other results were in!
Please keep 'em coming. |
Your help is needed! Wednesday 23 April 2008 by Brian Smart - Webmaster We are now three weeks into the season but are struggling to receive the results from the match secretary as quickly as we had hoped.
The intention was to have the match cards submitted as normal to the match secretary and he in turn would pass them on to Keith Robins for input. Alas, that hasn't happened yet.
As a temporary measure, I have created a 'Submit your results' link on the fixtures page which I hope you will make good use of.
The process is very simple. From the Fixtures page, Click the 'Submit your results' link next to your home game that has been played. Fill in the form as though it were a match card. Put 'absent' if a player fails to attend and 0 in his score and 21 in the other score box. No totals or match points are required as this will be calculated by the computer. Clicking on 'Submit' will send an email to either Keith or myself for entry into the database.
Please would the captain (or appointed delegate) of each home team use the form to submit results as soon as possible so that we can ensure that this site is used to it's maximum potential and provide us with the information we all crave.
I know that a 'submit your own results' method is subject to abuse and mickey-taking but I trust that we all want the same thing and it's in everyone's interest to treat the idea with respect. The official score card will eventually be used to authenticate any results submitted by this method
Thanks for your help.

Fred Threlfall Handicap Sunday 20 April 2008 by Keith Robins - League Secretary A field of 23 players landed at Hyde Gentlemen's Club to contest
Tameside League's opening handicap of the season
A fine turn out, considering the conditions, that were dry, but cold.
It marked a 100% increase on entries for the same competition last year,
as was a testement to how useful the new website will be.
In a day that was full of close matches - none more so than all four
Quarter-finals, all of which were settled by one or two chalks,
Matt Jones took first prize, getting the better of North's Brian Smart
in the final.
Matt came through a tough looking top half of the draw, putting paid to
A.Ward, K.Robins and Tony Brookes en-route to a Semi-Final against
Labour's Charlie Roberts, a game that was a lot closer than the 21-14
scoreline would suggest.
In the bottom half of the draw, Brian Smart prevailed against Bush
homester Dave Birchall and Grapes' Craig Dudley - in a real nip and
tuck game, to set up the other Semi-final with Andrew Jones
Brian was in no mood to see an all Jones final, and edged his ex North's
team-mate out 21-16.
In the final, Matt Jones was quick to find his line and length, and with
Brian struggling to find his earlier, blistering form, Matt ran out a
21-7 winner.
Tameside League would like to thank all the entrants, the referees -
Allison Boulton, Alan Hooper and Charlie Cooper, along with the
members, and commitee of Hyde Gentlemen's Club for staging the event.
We look forward to locking horns again, at the Navigation Inn next month
for the Infirmary Open. |
