Now in it's 4th year, this event is considered to be 'The Curtain Raiser' for the season and is growing in popularity. It is a competitive fun day and gives everyone the chance to get their arms going in a very relaxed and friendly manner before the season starts.

Entry to the competition is free for visitors as the cost of the buffet and entrance is covered by the JNMBC members. We do however ask that visitors do not come with empty pockets as there will be drinks and refreshemts available all day and we will be having a Raffle, a pedometer challenge, Chase the Jack, Nearest Bottom Edge etc etc etc. Raffle prize donations will be gratefully received.

We have changed the format slightly this year and will be drawing names from the registered entries instead of each homester selecting their own partner. This has been done to generate a random field and give everyone an equal chance. The field has also been limited to a fixed number of 24 pairs in order to help our organisers Barry and Lana with the timimg of the various aspects of the day.

We are also happy to announce that this event is now sponsored by Perrigo, suppliers of Taylors bowls and other bowling equipment. Based in Droylsden, Perrigo have for many years been at the forefront of another sport, Darts and manufacture the Manchester dart board. In recent years they have been supplying bowling equipment as well and specialize in Taylors Bowls.

Perrigo have kindly agreed to provide this event with winners trophies and a brand new set of Taylors bowls as the raffle star prize.

A current list of entries, regularly updated can be seen here

If you would like any further info, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you

Brian

2011 Player List Administration

by Brian Smart - Webmaster

As requested by numerous people, I have this year left the player database empty.

The main reason for this request is to ensure that we don't show the names of our dear departed friends in the current season but also to help deal with the players that have moved from one club to another. In previous years, I have simply copied the player list from year to year and edited it where the info has been known.

The result of the new, blank canvas approach is that the league administrators will populate the current year data when they receive the player registrations from each club.

Your comments on this subject and all others are welcomed on the message board so please help improve the communication in our game and register now
